Anna Maria is a large barrier island off the west coast of Bradenton. It is joined by two bridges to the mainland, Cortez in the south and Manatee Ave. in the north. It is also connected to Longboat Key by a bridge on the south side of the island. There are three cities on the island: City of Bradenton Beach, Holmes Beach and Anna Maria City. There are miles of beautiful white sandy beaches. Coquina Beach is located on the southern end of the island just before the bridge to Longboat Key.. It offers a nice long beach to stroll with your feet in the water, picnic tables under pine trees, and plenty of parking. A snack bar is available as well as restrooms and a playground. At Bradenton Beach, you can fish from the City Pier, which has Café and you can buy bait. Fishing tours are a relaxing way to spend a day. You can easily find public access ways to the beach, plus there are also public boat ramps at Bay Side Park on the south side of the city. Bradenton Beach also has a wide variety of shops and restaurants. |
